Dear Theatre Enthusiast,

I want to invite you to join WPTC Producing Director Steve Stettler and Tour Director Giles Ramsay for the Weston Playhouse’s 6th annual London Theatre Tour, a unique and unforgettable visit to the world’s greatest theatre capital. This year’s tour, scheduled from May 9 to 18, includes a day trip to Stratford-on-Avon, with lunch and a tour of the gardens en route at the historic Englefield Estate and a performance at the famed Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Your home-away-from-home will again be the four-star Cavendish St. James’s Hotel, located just across from Fortnum and Mason’s in the most elegant part of London’s West End. You’ll enjoy six performances, chosen from the latest West End hits, classics by the National Theatre, new plays at the Royal Court, and cutting edge work at the intimate Almeida Theatre or Donmar Warehouse, complemented by a visit to a top London art gallery and an optional classical concert.

Cavendish St. James’s Hotel

The unquestioned highlight of each trip is the stimulating discussion with tour leaders and fellow travelers. As always, the group will meet with top theatre practitioners, critics, and political journalists, providing a rare "behind the scenes" look at theatre and the issues of the day. Meals will include dinners at the Zagat-rated Sartoria restaurant in Mayfair and at the historic Garrick Club, the latter hosted by Martin Neary, former organist and choirmaster at Westminster Abbey.

The tour allows ample free time every day for shopping, sightseeing and relaxing. You’ll receive complete welcome packets with maps and guidebooks, and recommendations of additional plays, concerts and exhibitions. Private coach transportation is provided to all venues not within walking distance.

A deposit of $950 per person will hold your space. And if you pay in full by the registration deadline of December 9, you’re guaranteed no increase over the cost of last year’s tour, no matter how the dollar fluctuates! The price of $3950 per person includes hotel, ground transportation, all performance tickets and many meals. We will recommend flights from Boston and New York and a travel agent for ease of booking; air travel is the responsibility of the participants. The group is limited to 35 participants, with reservations taken in the order received.

Interest in this year’s trip is already strong, so fill out the reservation form today and mail it with your payment to: WPTC London Tour, 703 Main Street, Weston, VT 05161.

I can attest from personal experience – it’s a fantastic trip!

Chair, Board of Directors
