Job Title: Technical Director

Position(s) available: 1
Type: Seasonal Department Head
Department: Production
Reports to: Production Manager
Work week: 6 Days, 8 - 10 hours/day.
Housing included: Single room, shared kitchen and bath in company housing

Responsibilities:
• Engineering, construction, installation and strike of all scenic elements for 6 shows on 2 stages.
• Work with Production Manager to ensure that all shows are completed on schedule and on budget.
• Supervise Scene Shop staff.
• Coordinate with Props Manager and Scenic Charge on production of all scenic elements.
• Prepare all necessary working drawings.
• Attend all scheduled production meetings.
• Communicate with other production departments, designers, stage managers, and other guest artists to ensure the safe and effective implementation of all scenic elements.
• Work with Production Manager to schedule and supervise scenery running crews for all shows.
Order all necessary materials and supplies.

Requirements:
• Mastery of wood and metal scenic construction and fabrication techniques, scenic engineering and rigging.
• Advanced CAD skills.
• Minimum of 1 - 2 years professional experience in Technical Direction or equivalent.
• Excellent personal, organizational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to motivate, manage and coordinate staff members of varying skill levels.
• Well-established skills in handling budgets and scheduling.
