Job Title: Resident Sound
Designer/Engineer

Department: Production
Reports to: Production
Manager
Work week: 6 Days,
8 - 10 hours/day.
Housing included:
Single room, shared kitchen and bath in company housing
Responsibilities:
Engineer and operate sound for 6 show season
on two stages.
Design sound for some productions.
Install necessary equipment and cabling for all
shows, including playback, mixers, amps, microphones
(if required), speakers, etc. with occasional assistance
from interns.
Work with guest Sound Designers, Musical Directors
and Musicians.
Maintain and repair sound and communications
equipment.
Order equipment, materials and supplies.
Process all necessary rental equipment.
Work with Production Manager to ensure that all
shows are completed on schedule and on budget.
Attend all scheduled production meetings.
Communicate with other production departments,
designers, stage managers, and other guest artists to
ensure the safe and effective implementation of all
sound elements.
Oversee the safety of sound personnel and adherence
to all applicable safety policies and regulations.
Coordinate with Master Electrician on equipment and
personnel needs.
Requirements:
Advanced skills in Sound Design, mixing and engineering,
including creation and acquisition of sound and music
effects and working with wireless mic systems.
Minimum 2 years professional experience or equivalent.
Experience maintaining and repairing Clear-Com
headset systems.
Experience working with sound requirements for
"pit" orchestras.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Own laptop computer with Sound Design software
recommended.
The ability to be in two places at once is preferred.
