Weston
Playhouse Awarded Grant from the Vermont Arts Council
(Weston, VT) --- The
Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has received a generous
grant from the Vermont Arts Council in support of its
2008 Education and Outreach programs. The $7,000 grant,
the largest that the Council awards, will help fund
such programs as the annual statewide Teacher’s
Workshop, School Matinee performances of Shakespeare’s
AS YOU LIKE IT, the annual Young Company family production,
in-school residencies, access services and the Stage
Door program.
"We are pleased and honored to receive this latest
grant from the Vermont Arts Council," commented
WPTC Education Director Lauryn Axelrod. "Our
Education and Outreach programs are vital to reaching
vast audiences throughout the state and beyond."
The WPTC has received VAC funding in support of its
Education and Outreach programs every year since 2000.
This latest grant will support all of the 2008 educational
activities that look to reach over 15,000 people of
all ages.
