WESTON PLAYHOUSE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES 2008 STAGE
DOOR SERIES
(Weston, VT) -- Enter the world of
live theatre this winter and spring with Weston Playhouse
Theatre Company’s 2008 Stage Door Series. Get
behind the scenes and explore the theatre’s upcoming
season with free community play readings and discussions,
film screenings, performances, and more, sponsored in
part by local libraries, bookstores, The Vermont Arts
Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
The series begins Sunday, February 10 at 4pm at the
Landgrove Inn’s InView Center for the Arts with
a free community play reading and discussion of John
Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama,
Doubt.
Set in a Catholic school in 1964, the play pits a determined
nun against a young priest in a battle of wills and
beliefs. You bring the talent, WPTC brings the scripts!
The reading is followed by an optional wine, dinner
and discussion at the Landgrove Inn for $28. Call 802.824.6673

On Friday, February 29 at 7pm, come to the Village Green
Gallery in Weston, VT for “A Night in the Piazza,”
featuring wine and Italian hors-d’oeuvres and
a screening of the rare 1962 film version of The
Light in the Piazza, starring Olivia de
Havilland and George Hamilton. Suggested donation is
$10. Seating is limited, call 802.824.3669 to reserve.
Join WPTC at Chester’s Misty Valley Books on Sunday,
March 9 at 3pm for a free community play reading and
discussion of No Child…,
Nilaja Sun’s hilarious and provocative one-woman
show about inner city schools, making its Vermont debut
on Weston’s Other Stage.
On Sunday, April 6 at 3pm, enjoy French snacks and get
behind the story of the timeless Broadway hit, Les
Misèrables, with a free lecture and
discussion at Ludlow’s Fletcher Memorial Library.
On Saturday, April 26 at 7pm, come celebrate Shakespeare’s
445th Birthday at the Spiral Press Café in Manchester
with food, drink, revelry, and a raucous free community
play reading of As You
Like It, the Bard’s classic comedy
of love and laughter.
Bring the kids to the Weston Playhouse on Sunday, May
18 at 2pm for a free Family FunDay on the Farm, featuring
petting animals, performances by local Early Stages
students, and more, in celebration of the WPTC Young
Audience’s performance of Click,
Clack, Moo: Cows That Type.
And, new this year, WPTC introduces PlayGroups!

to your reading list? Choose from one of WPTC’s
upcoming season productions and read and discuss the
script or novel from which the play is adapted. WPTC
provides a reading list, discussion guide, and a group
