Weston Playhouse Celebrates MainStage
Opening Night with Picnic on the Green

Pack a picnic and join your friends for what is sure to become Weston’s next great theatre tradition. All are invited to come out and enjoy Opening Night Picnics on the Green, to be held prior to each of the four WPTC MainStage Opening Night performances, on the Green in the center of the Village of Weston.

“For years people have been enjoying the beautiful Weston Green by having picnics prior to WPTC performances,” said Managing Director Stuart Duke. “We’re just taking it a step further by encouraging more people to gather together and celebrate opening night at the theatre.”

The first picnic will be on Friday evening, June 27 prior to the 8pm Opening Night performance of DOUBT. Future picnics will take place prior to the MainStage Opening Nights of THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA on July 11, LES MISÉRABLES on August 1 and AS YOU LIKE IT on August 29. Bring your own picnic or preorder a gourmet picnic from the Inn at Weston by calling 824-6789.  Picnics must be ordered by the Monday before opening night and can be picked up that evening at the Inn.

The picturesque Village Green is owned and maintained by the all-volunteer organization know as the Ladies of the Green. Nine local ladies work to raise funds throughout the year to keep up the Green and make it available for various community gatherings and functions.
